The Palace Cinema

Malton is very proud of its very own independent cinema. The Palace Cinema is a charming art deco gem and shows all the latest releases as well as well known classics. It is equipped for 3D and has a convenient bar serving alcoholic and soft drinks. The cinema entrance is just opposite the Counting House, the inspiration for Charles Dickens’ famous novel “A Christmas Carol”.

The Milton Rooms

The newl-refurbished Milton Rooms have been masterminded by the very brilliant Gary Cooper and now are a centre for Yorkshire Theatre, Music, Dance, Art and Comedy. The largest theatre in Ryedale is well worth a visit and has a full programme of acts throughout the year.
